SaaS customer discovery questions that matter

Discovery questions are there to find the current workaround, not to collect compliments. For a SaaS, the useful questions are about the last time the job broke, what they used, and what they would not bother switching for.

Ask what they do today

“How do you handle this now?” beats “would you use an app for this?”. The first question produces a workflow. The second produces a guess. In public posts, the original message often already answers it. Read that before you add a question.

Ask what the workaround costs

Time, errors, and a tool they already pay for are costs. If they cannot name one, they are curious, not stuck. NedlyGo’s qualification looks for that kind of reason to act rather than topic similarity alone.

Ask what a switch would have to beat

People stay with a clumsy tool because leaving is worse. Ask what the replacement must do on day one. If your site does not promise that, do not argue. Note the gap. A public thread is a bad place to invent a feature.

Questions

Should I ask these in a survey first?
A public post that already answers them is faster. Use a call after someone replies with a real constraint.
Does NedlyGo run the interviews?
No. It finds public conversations. The follow-up questions are yours.
